The Samsung SSG-P3100M is the first 3D Starter Kit Samsung released for 2011. In contrast to older starter sets, it contains 2 pairs of the new and lightweight battery-powered glasses SSG-3100GB. They look alot better than the older glasses from 2009 and 2010 and most importantly now use Bluetooth transmission technology which is more reliable. What else is contained in this kit? Alot: the first three Shrek movies, all remastered in 3D, “Shrek Forever After” as well as “Megamind” on Blu-Ray. All in cinema-like quality, making the SSG-P3100M a great value for money offer.
Attention, these glasses will only work with 2011 Samsung 3D HDTVs! There has been quite alot of confusion which TVs from Samsung are compatible, you’ll find a list of all of them below. Compatibility does not depend on screen size, but on model series.

All Samsung model numbers start with LN (for LCD), UN (for LED) and PN (for Plasma), the following number from 19 up to 64 is the screen size. The next part is important, that’s the model series e.g. D8000 defining if you Samsung 3D HDTV is ready for the 2011 glasses. All numbers or letters after the model series are only bezel color codes or similar.
For 3D Glasses.
The Samsung SSG-P2100S/ZA starter kit is another “clone” from the P2100 3D starter kit series and probably the coolest one, since it contains the 3D version of the 3 available “Shrek” movies as well as a voucher for Shrek 4. The box looks a little different from the the P2100T and P2100X, but the content is the same: 2 pairs of glasses for adults as well as the Blu-Ray.
Which of the 3 available similar starter kits you buy pretty much depends on your taste, but with the Shrek Triology plus a coupon for #4 the SSG-P2100S/ZA is certainly the best value for money deal.
